The bald eagle represents majestic beauty, great strength and long life, and our American flag represents so many miracles, including the heavens (stars) and the sun's rays of light (stripes).
The Star of Life and the Rod of Asclepius make up the symbol for Emergency Medical Services. The Greeks regarded snakes as sacred and used them in healing rituals to honor Asclepius, the demigod of medicine, as snake venom was thought to be remedial and their skin-shedding was viewed as a symbol of rebirth and renewal.
We've hand stamped these symbolic stars and stripes onto a 3/4" disc, and then added a 3/8" tiny coin with the EMT emblem.
- Made with solid sterling silver, 14k gold-filled and solid copper metals. Our copper tag comes on a 14k rose gold-filled necklace
- Silver and copper impressions are blackened; gold and rose gold are not.
- Our copper begins in polished, raw form, and will naturally patina over time into a beautiful weathered look. If that's not your style, a quick dip in our jewelry cleaner will make it like new! Copper may slightly (and temporarily) discolor skin, but causes no harm.
